Below are the Notices as posted in St Mary's church and the proposed revision of the electoral roll. There is also a sheet on tips for the Zoom APCM and numbers to use for telephone access. Please note that under the church representation rules the PCC will consist of upto 9 elected members, we have 3 places for nomination/election, 2 of which are members who have completed one term and are eligible to seek nominations for a second term. New PCC members will be effective immediately.
However, with the Church Warden position is a little more complicated as newly elected Church Wardens cannot take up office until they attend a Visitation Service when they are appointed legally as the Bishop's representative. The earliest this can happen is Jan 21 but no meetings are currently planned by the Diocese, so we could overlap with the next APCM in April/May. This creates a situation where the current Church Warden is required to continue even if a new Church Warden is elected. With this situation in mind and with the recent death of one Church Warden whose funeral is 3 days before the APCM, we will take a considered approach giving people time to consider the role and responsibilities it entails before seeking nomination. The current lockdown also clearly increases the problems for communicating the vacancy and having conversations with anyone looking for information. The PCC have duely decided to have one church warden position for nomination/election this time and then return to electing two Church Wardens in the APCM in April/May 2021.
Nomination forms can be downloaded at the end of the page, please contact Jill Dickson or the benefice office to discuss entry of nomination forms.
